Children rescued from 70 ft-high London fairground ride
Firefighters at London's Southbank rescued 19 people stuck on a broken down fairground ride.
Ten hanging capsules on the ride were stuck about 20 metres in the air with 19 adults and children on board.
London Fire Brigade was called to the scene shortly before 6pm.
“Crews are using an aerial ladder platform which is a bit like a cherry picker to reach the people and bring them back down", station manager Clive Robinson at the scene said.
"It’s slow work as we need to access each cage on the ride individually and ensure they are secure before we move them from the ride onto our platform and bring them back down to the ground".
Shortly after 9.45pm, London Fire Brigade tweeted that all of those stuck were safely back on the ground.
No injuries have been reported.
