Atletico Madrid sign Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro
Sevilla have reached an agreement for the transfer of striker Kevin Gameiro to Atletico Madrid, dependent on a medical.
The 29-year-old France international will arrive in Madrid on Saturday evening and is set to sign a four-year deal at Vicente Calderon Stadium.
A statement on Atletico's website read: "Atletico de Madrid and Sevilla FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Kevin Gameiro to our club.
"The striker, who will sign for four seasons, will travel to Madrid this evening. The transfer is contingent on the French player successfully undergoing the medical examination.
"The club wishes him the best in this new professional stage as an Atletico player."
Gameiro began his career at former Ligue 1 side Strasbourg and went on to enjoy a three-year spell at Lorient, scoring 56 goals in 120 appearances before making the move to Paris St Germain in 2011 where he made his debut for the France team.
Three seasons later he made the switch to LaLiga where he impressed with 67 goals in total for Sevilla - 29 of those coming last term - and helping them win three Europa League trophies before his exploits caught the eye of the 2016 Champions League finalists.
Atleti forward Luciano Vietto will move in the other direction on an initial loan basis, Sevilla later announced.
A post on the Andalusian club's English Twitter account read: "(Sevilla and Atletico) arrive at an agreement for the loan of @LucianoVietto (with option to buy) and transfer of @kevingameiro9."
