Ricky Gervais to be honoured at Bafta Los Angeles
Ricky Gervais will be honoured by Bafta Los Angeles with an award named after Charlie Chaplin.
The Office star is set to receive the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for excellence at a ceremony in California on October.
Gervais, 55, who starred in Hollywood films Ghost Town and Muppets Most Wanted, has already won seven BAFTA awards throughout his career.
Previous winners of the Bafta Los Angeles include US comedienne Amy Schumer, Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Britain's Sacha Baron Cohen.
On the same evening, Ang Lee will be honoured with the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for excellence in directing, while Samuel L Jackson will receive the Albert R Broccoli Britannia Award for worldwide contribution to entertainment.
The awards will be hosted for a second year by comedian Jack Whitehall on 28th October.
