Wales and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale became engaged to long-term girlfriend Emma Rhys-Jones on Saturday.

The 26-year-old, who starred for Wales at Euro 2016, has two children with his fiancée.

Breaking the news on Twitter and Instagram, Miss Rhys-Jones is shown sporting a shiny engagement ring.

Writing on Twitter, Bale, 27, said: "She said yes!! This is a birthday weekend I won't forget for a long time".
