Nasa space probe Juno sends back first image of Jupiter
A Nasa spacecraft has sent back the first pictures of its orbit around Jupiter.
After a five-year journey, the Juno space probe entered its planned orbit last week, in a move hailed as the "hardest thing Nasa's ever done".
The image, taken on Saturday, shows Jupiter surrounded by three of its four largest moons.
The probe was circling three million miles away from the planet, and even at that distance, was able to see Jupiter's Great Red Spot - a centuries-old atmospheric storm.
It is on a 20-month mission to map the planet's atmosphere, interior and poles.
Scientists expect close-up images of the planet to come back next month once Juno swings back around.
