Portugal given heroes' welcome home after Euro 2016 win
Portugal players were given a heroes' welcome as they arrived home after their Euro 2016 victory.
The team beat France 1-0 on Sunday to clinch their first ever major trophy.
After flying home, the team plane passed under an honorary arch bearing the colours of the Portuguese flag.
The players were then greeted by thousands of cheering fans as they rode through the streets of Lisbon on an open top bus.
Captain Cristiano Ronaldo, who was forced to come off during the final due to injury, shared snaps of him and his winning teammates on Instagram.
He captioned a video filmed from the victory bus "amazing".
After the win, Ronaldo said it was "one of the happiest moments of my career".
He added: "I've always said I wanted to win a trophy with the national team and make history. And I did it.
"This is a unique moment for me, for all the Portuguese people and it's unforgettable."
