Dallas survivor: Police laid down their lives to protect us

A survivor of the Dallas shooting has praised police for their selfless bravery during the attacks in which five officers were shot dead and seven others injured.

Shatamia Taylor, who was shot in the ankle as she tried to flee with her children, said she saw police gunned down as they worked to protect the family.

Ms Taylor said that she saw at least one police officer shot down during the attack by former army serviceman Micah Johnson.

She broke down in tears as she described watching police being told that their colleagues had not survived.
