Wales team greeted by fans after Euro 2016 semi-final defeat against Portugal

The Wales national football team arrived back at their French training base in Dinard today after Wednesday's Euro 2016 semi-final defeat against Portugal.

The players and manager Chris Coleman were greeted by cheers from fans as they arrived at their hotel.

Coleman thanked fans and hotel staff for their "support, hospitality and friendship" during Wales's Euro 2016 campaign.

Coleman will conduct a thorough debrief with the players about their performance over the past few weeks before the side returns to Cardiff on Friday for a homecoming celebration in front of 33,000 supporters.

The team will mark their commendable performance in the tournament with an open top bus tour and a public celebration at Cardiff City Stadium.

Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones and scores of fans are expected to welcome the party when they arrive at Cardiff Airport on Friday.
