Max Clifford found not guilty of indecently assaulting teenage girl

Former celebrity publicist Max Clifford has been found not guilty at Southwark Crown Court of indecently assaulting a teenage girl.

The 73-year-old, who is already serving an eight-year jail term for historic sex offences against young women, showed little emotion as the verdict was delivered.

He had always denied the offence, having been accused of using his "position of power" to "humiliate" the 17-year-old into performing a sex act on him in the 1980s.

Clifford represented some of the biggest names in showbusiness, but in 2014 was convicted of eight charges under Operation Yewtree - the Metropolitan Police investigation set up after the Jimmy Savile scandal.
