Roof torn off bus after railway bridge collision

The roof of a double-decker bus has been ripped off after it was wedged under a railway bridge in Manchester.

The Stagecoach bus was returning to a depot when it collided with the bridge at around 7pm on Tuesday.

No passengers were on board.

The incident took place between Joshua Lane and Mills Hill Road in Middleton, Greater Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed paramedics attended the scene, no injuries were reported and nobody was arrested.

They added: "Luckily no one was on the top deck and no one hurt".
