Chris Evans accused of sexual assault

An allegation of sexual assault has been made against TV presenter Chris Evans, according to reports.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson told ITV News:

ITV News has contacted Evans, 50, for comment.

He earlier resigned as Top Gear presenter after just one series, saying his best shot was "not enough".

A BBC spokesperson said the corporation would not be commenting on an ongoing police investigation.
