Jeremy Corbyn has been heckled over the result of the EU referendum.

The beleaguered Labour leader was accused of running a "lacklustre" and "half-hearted" campaign to keep Britain inside the EU.

As Corbyn addressed supporters at a rally in central London, one protester shouted: "What about Brexit Jeremy? Where were you when we needed you?"

One man also apparently shouted "moron" at Corbyn.

His supporters responded with shouts of "shut up" and began chanting his name.

Corbyn also replied to the protester - who he referred to as "our friend" - saying he was disappointed by the outcome of the referendum and the "difficult economic" outcome.

He added that he was appalled by the rise in hate crimes seen in the last week.

Corbyn is facing an all-out coup against him from Labour MPs angry at his leadership during the referendum campaign.

He was endured mass resignations from his shadow cabinet with a leadership election now on the horizon.

In a message to his critics, a defiant Corbyn said he was "very proud to be carrying on" with his work fighting austerity as Labour leader.
