Prince's Yellow Cloud guitar sells for over £100,000
The Yellow Cloud electric guitar that Prince played in numerous concerts has sold for more than £100,000 at auction.
Jim Irsay, the owner of American football team Indianapolis Colts, purchased the guitar that Prince used at gigs until the mid-1990s.
Mr Irsay, a musical instrument collector, paid £103,000 for the item at an auction in America on Saturday.
Heritage Auctions, which conducted the auction in Beverley Hills, California, says the solid body guitar was a favourite of the late musician from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s.
Mr Irsay also has instruments once owned by musicians Jerry Garcia of Grateful Dead, John Lennon and Ringo Star of The Beatles and singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.
Prince died on April 21 at his Paisley Park home in Minnesota of an accidental overdose of fentanyl.
