Music fans heading to the Glastonbury Festival are being warned to expected the unexpected from the Great British summer as a weekend of mixed weather is forecast.

On Monday campers reported flooding at the Somerset venue, with paths under water and some areas already turned into mudbaths.

But the Met Office is hopeful that the site could dry out before the heaviest crowds arrive on Friday although there is more rain predicted on Saturday.

The temperature is expected to reach a high of 21C (69F) on Thursday before settling at 19C (66F) over Saturday and Sunday.

Gates open on Wednesday before the festival begins on Friday, with Muse, Adele and Coldplay all headlining.
