Euro 2016: Boy's amazing reaction to being given Northern Ireland tickets moves players
A little boy's spectacular response to being given tickets to see Northern Ireland play at Euro 2016 is winning over thousands of people on the internet - and has been called the "best moment of Euro 2016 so far" by his beloved team's players.
Zak McGall, 10, from Ballymena in Co Antrim, was given the surprise gift by his dad the day before the team played Ukraine in Lyon.
His family videoed the moment the excitable youngster opened his gift, and his astounded reaction has seen the clip go viral.
Young Zak is seen calmly opening an envelope and pulling out the tickets before gently placing them on the sofa and screaming before jumping into his father's arms.
The players were so moved when they saw Zak's reaction, they called their young fan.
Striker Kyle Lafferty spotted the video on social media and asked on Twitter for people to track down Zak.
He called the clip "best moment of Euro 2016 so far" and said "most of us boys near burst into tears."
The star player and his team mates called Zak on Sunday and promised to send the McGalls a couple of signed shirts.
Zak and his father Richard are back in Northern Ireland after watching the victory last Thursday.
Mr McGall said: "It makes me proud but it is a bit surreal.
"I am happy that a video clip of me doing something for my son has had this effect on the Northern Ireland team and the fans at this time."
He said the deaths of Darren Rodgers from Ballymena after a fall from a promenade in Nice and Archie Rainey during the game had been a low point.
"It is brilliant to be part of a good news story."
He said Lafferty was deeply affected by the video, which illustrated the impact the team was having on the children and supporters.
