Radiohead condemn Turkey record shop attack
Radiohead has condemned an attack on fans attending an event celebrating the release of their new album 'A Moon Shaped Pool'.
The event, which took place at record shop Velvet IndieGround in Istanbul on Friday, was interrupted when men burst in to the store and shouted at an employee.
They then dragged the employee outside before beating up customers and staff with sticks and bottles, according to eyewitnesses.
It has been reported that up to 20 men were involved in attacking people at the party, because they were upset that people were listening to music and consuming alcohol during the holy month of Ramadan.
The band said in a statement: "Our hearts go out to those attacked tonight at Velvet IndieGround in Istanbul.
"We hope that someday we will be able to look back on such acts of violent intolerance as things of the ancient past.
"For now, we can only offer our fans in Istanbul our love and support."
Only one person was injured following the attack, reports say.
