England football fan violently attacked in Marseille 'opens his eyes'

An England fan left seriously injured after being attacked by Russian supporters has opened his eyes, his brother has said.

Andrew Bache, 51, suffered a cardiac arrest, extensive brain injuries and a lung infection after being attacked by a group of Russians armed with iron bars ahead of England's match with Russia in Marseille.

His brother, Dean Bache, revealed Andrew has begun to move his arms and opened both eyes when his son Harry visited him in hospital.

A JustGiving fundraising page had been setup for Mr Bache's treatment, and has raised more than £19,000 towards a £30,000 target.
