Arthur Simpson-Kent, 49, has pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to the murder of the former EastEnders actress Sian Blake and their two children.

The hairdresser admitted murdering his partner Ms Kent their sons Zachary, eight, and Amon, four, at some point between December 12 last year and January 3.

All three victims had been the subject of an urgent police search after they were reported missing, but were found buried in the garden of the couple's home in Erith, Kent, on January 5 this year.

Mr Simpson-Kent was tracked down to Ghana the following by detective, and agreed to return to the UK to face trial.

He appeared in court wearing a red T-shirt and black trousers via a videolink from Belmarsh prison, and was remanded in custody ahead of a three-day sentencing from October 4.

Ms Blake, who played Frankie Pierre in 56 episodes of EastEnders between 1996 and 1997, had been suffering from motor neurone disease before she died.

Her mother and sister Ava both attended court to witness Simpson-Kent's guilty plea today.
