'Justice and truth - that's all we ask': Mum of soldier who died at Deepcut demands public inquiry
The mother of a teenage soldier who died at Deepcut Barracks has told ITV News that she wants a public inquiry into her son's death.
Private Geoff Gray, from Seaham, Durham, was just 17 when he was found dead from two gunshot wounds at the Surrey barracks in 2001.
He was among four recruits who died in seven years amid claims of a bullying and abusive culture at the base.
Diane Gray has fiercely denied the Army's claim that her son took his own life and has fought a 15-year battle to find out "what really happened".
"Justice and truth - that's all we ask for," she told ITV News' Penny Marshall.
Ms Gray said the new inquest into the death of Private Cheryl James should open the doors for the families of other victims to find out what happened to their loved ones.
Speaking about her "bubbly" son, Ms Gray: "When he walked into a room, the room lit up.
"He had his whole life ahead of him and he loved the Army - he'd be gushing when he come home."
She said her anger is what motivates her to carry on the fight for a fresh inquest and full public inquiry.
"He [Geoff] was worth fighting for."
