Muhammad Ali in hospital after suffering respiratory problem

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali has been admitted to hospital where he is being treated for a respiratory issue.

The former heavyweight champion's spokesman Bob Gunnell confirmed the 74-year-old had been taken to hospital and was in a "fair condition".

According to Gunnell, Ali is being treated as a precaution and a brief hospital stay is expected.

Ali has been battling advanced Parkinson's disease for several years and was previously hospitalised in December 2014 and January 2015.
