Woman feared dead after being snatched by crocodile
A woman is feared dead after being snatched by a crocodile as she took a late night swim.
Police are still searching for Cindy Waldron, 46, who was last seen by her friend on Thornton Beach in Australia on Sunday.
Her last words to friend Leeann Mitchell are believed to be "a croc has got me".
Ms Mitchell, who was also in the water, survived the attack and tried to drag her friend away but couldn't.
It is believed the friends were in the Queensland area visiting friends when the tragedy happened.
Ms Waldron is believed to be from New Zealand but had been living in Lithgow, New South Wales.
A rescue helicopter fitted with thermal imaging equipment has so far failed to find any trace of her.
The two women were not local to the area and may not have known they were swimming in crocodile infested waters.
But local MP Warren Entsch said that the area had many warning signs and was known as a crocodile habitat.
