Police make first arrest after 'legal highs' ban comes into force

Detectives have made their first arrest under the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016, less than 24 hours after it came into force, putting a ban on so-called 'legal highs'.

The 23-year-old man was arrested in Rochdale on Thursday morning on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
