Woman arrives back from holiday to flash mob wedding proposal
A woman who had just arrived back at Manchester Airport after a holiday abroad was surprised with a flash mob and a wedding proposal.
Karen Blackburn, from Stockport, had just returned from the Dominican Republic with her daughter when she was stopped by two men posing as security guards.
Five dancers and the "security guards" burst into dance in the middle of the arrivals lounge to the surprise of onlookers.
Watch the video of the flash mob dance and wedding proposal:
After a dance performance to Bruno Mars' song Just the Way You Are, the dancers revealed a banner that read: "Norf, wanna marry Souf? - the couple's pet names for each other.Karen's partner Chops was hidden in a nearby shop during the flash mob dance.
She then appeared from behind the banner and got down on one knee to ask Karen to marry her.
Karen, who got together with Chops three months ago having known her for a year, said yes.
Chops was quoted in the Manchester Evening News as saying she had the ring delivered the day Karen went away on holiday.
Karen’s 18-year-old son and a group of the couple's friends arrived at the airport before she touched down to see the wedding proposal.
Chops had got in touch with the dance group’s management company, Contraband International Limited and they put her in touch with Pastiche, who organises flash mobs.
