Groom widowed after wife dies in her sleep just hours into wedding night
A groom was made a widower in a matter of hours after his wife died in her sleep during their wedding night.
Newly-wed Mariola Michalowski, 38, died shortly after she married her 32-year-old husband Krzysztof on May 13th.
The couple, originally from Poland, had two young children together, and had only finished celebrating at their wedding reception hours before Mrs Michalowski's death.
A JustGiving page has so far raised more than £11,000 towards the costs of the couple's wedding and Mrs Michalowski's funeral.
The mother-of-two had a history of epilepsy, although the cause of her death remains unknown.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "We were called to reports of the sudden death of a 38-year-old woman at 8.52 am on May 14th.
"Enquiries were carried out at the address and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death".
A report for the coroner is being prepared.
