Europa League can save Liverpool season - Mignolet
Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet says winning the UEFA Europa League can save his team's season, but he has no wish to play the part of the hero in Switzerland.
The Reds qualified for the final against Sevilla after defeating the likes of Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal, having already gone to the League Cup final earlier in the year. Liverpool lost the domestic final at Wembley on penalties against Manchester City, but Mignolet believes that set-back can be wiped out by going on to lift silverware in Europe instead.
Although Mignolet could be a key figure in the final on Wednesday, he would prefer not to be placed in the limelight.
The Belgian has been praised lately by former Liverpool 'keeper Jerzy Dudek, who was in goal when the Reds won the UEFA Champions League in 2005, saving two penalties in the shoot-out.
Although the current No. 1 was pleased to receive the praise, he was quick to point out that he hoped his outfield team-mates could make the difference this time before spot-kicks were required.
