Leicester turns blue ahead of Premier League title match
Leicester City's fairytale ending to an incredible season kicked off this afternoon as the Foxes's take on Manchester United in a match that could see them clinch the Premier League title.
Leicester, who are seven points ahead of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur, need to win their match at Old Trafford to be crowned Premier League champions today.
Even if they don't win today, they still only need three points from three games to secure the title.
Leicester has turned blue in anticipation of the team arriving back from Manchester as champions.
The city's branch of John Lewis has been illuminated as part of the 'Backing the Blues' campaign, a Leicestershire chippy is serving blue battered sausages, while a coffee shop is offering a "Vardyccino" in honour of captain and standout star Jamie Vardy.
The striker isn't be playing today against United after being served an additional one-match ban after being sent off against West Ham.
Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri told the BBC he was hoping for a 'movie-style'-ending.
"It's unbelievable, it's history and we know this," Ranieri said.
"It is important to finish the story like an American movie. Always in the final it is OK, a happy ending."
Leicester's season has been described as one of the greatest sporting fairytales of all time.
They narrowly escaped relegation last season and the odds of them winning the Premier League title this year was 5000-1.
Some have suggested that the Foxes incredible turn around is thanks to Richard III.
The remains of the 15th century king were discovered under a car park in the city in 2012 and buried in Leicester Cathedral on 26 March 2015.
Since the monarch's remains were reburied a mile from the team's ground, the King Power stadium, Leicester's win rate has almost doubled.
Leicester, whose famous sons include Gary Linekar, Kasabian, Englebert Humperdink and David and Richard Attenborough, hope the magic lasts for a little longer and fans can paint the town blue in celebration tonight..
