Former cabinet minister Ed Balls has baked a cake to mark the fifth anniversary of accidentally tweeting his own name.

Mr Balls' social media mishap has been commemorated on Twitter as Ed Balls Day every year since he sent the original message on April 28, 2011.

The former shadow chancellor, who lost his seat in the 2015 general election, was encouraged by his wife Yvette Cooper to bake the cake depicting the infamous tweet, which went on to become an online sensation.
