Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain lands own show called The Chronicles Of Nadiya

Nadiya Hussain, the popular winner of the Great British Bake Off, has landed her own show - called The Chronicles Of Nadiya.

Hussain, who recently made the Queen's 90th birthday cake, will star in a two-part travel food programme for the BBC.

The show will start in her home town of Luton and chronicle her heritage as she travels to her family village in north-east Bangladesh.

The show will be an "exuberant" food-inspired journey, the BBC says.

Viewers will see Hussain cook dishes from her childhood, learn new recipes and explore the changes in food in the country since she last visited more than a decade ago.

The baking star told her fans on Twitter that she was "so excited to share my journey with everyone".

"Nadiya's story on Bake Off touched the hearts of the nation," Patrick Holland, head of commissioning for documentaries at the BBC, said.

"We are delighted that she will be using her cooking skills to take us on a journey to such an extraordinary and changing land."
