Prince death: Mumford & Sons cover Nothing Compares 2 U in tribute to music icon

Mumford & Sons paid tribute to Prince at their concert in Minnesota - the music icon's birthplace - last night with a cover of Nothing Compares 2 U.

The song is more closely associated with Irish songstress Sinead O'Connor, who reached number one with the record in 1990.

But the song was written and originally recorded by Prince, who died on Thursday aged 57.

It was also one of his most-performed songs at his concerts.

"Ladies and gentlemen give it up for Prince," lead singer Marcus Mumford says at the end of the song.
