Thieves who stole about 500 sheep from a farm are being sought by police.

Officers are continuing their enquiries after livestock went missing from a farm near Moffat in Dumfries and Galloway.

The animals, worth around £60,000, were taken between Sunday morning and Monday morning from land near Capplegill Farm.

Police believe the theft would have required "careful planning" and the use of vehicles.

The grazing land the sheep were on covers several thousand acres.
