League Two Mansfield Town had a mascot with a twist on Saturday when a 30-year-old man led the team out.

The soon-to-be married Paul Gorrie was appropriately the mascot, alongside children, at the Stags' clash with local rivals Notts County.

Despite being a life-long Manchester United fan, the Mancunian was surprised by his friends ahead of the game as part of his stag weekend in the area.

One may have thought the Oxford graduate was a member of the team, if it wasn't for the fact he wore blue socks rather than yellow when walking out of the tunnel.

Mr Gorrie told ITV News: "Some of the Notts County players got very confused, as they thought Mansfield were trying to play with 12 men."
