An international gospel choir has sung its way straight into the Britain's Got Talent live shows after wowing judge Alesha Dixon so much that she made them the second Golden Buzzer act of the new series.

The 100 Voices Of Gospel choir, featuring singers from the UK and around the globe, had the crowd swaying along and clapping their hands as they performed an uplifting rendition of gospel classic This Little Light Of Mine which even secured them a standing ovation from the audience.

Dixon's quick reactions saw her swoop in to hit her Golden Buzzer and give 100 Voices of Gospel a guaranteed place in the live rounds of the competition before an annoyed Simon Cowell had a chance to claim the act for his own.

Head judge Cowell told Dixon "I wanted them", to which she replied "if you snooze, you lose".

Hailing her Golden Buzzer act as her "idea of heaven" Dixon praised the singers after they secured yeses from all four of the judges.

She said: "Everything about you, everything you represent, is my idea of heaven."

Another act to impress the panel and get a full sweep of yeses across the board was 14-year-old Jack Higgins, from Liverpool, who evoked the plot of Billy Elliot with his appearance.

Like the character Jamie Bell plays in the award-winning movie the teenager has maintained a love of ballet despite his passion making him the target of bullies.

Jack, performed a tear-jerking routine to the song Say Something by A Great Big World before talking about the abuse he has endured.

He told the judges: "When I started ballet, people were calling me names ... I was getting really upset, but dancing, it just makes me feel happy."
