William 'appalled' by footage of dead rhino and pledges to help fight poaching
ITV News correspondent, Geraint Vincent reports:
Prince William is said to be "appalled" by footage of a dead rhino killed by a poacher in Kaziranga National Park, just days before his visit, and has vowed to help tackle poaching.
Kensington Palace has told ITV News that the Duke of Cambridge has spoken to the head of the National Park about the issue and is to fund training and equipment for rangers, through his charity United for Wildlife.
The footage, obtained by ITV News, showed a greater one-horned rhino, an endangered species, lying dead and mutilated by poachers.
The creature was killed for its horn by poachers just three days before William and his wife Kate visited the national park to highlight the plight of endangered animals.
