Ringo Starr cancels North Carolina concert over 'anti-gay' law
Ringo Starr has become the latest performer to cancel a gig in North Carolina in protest against a new state law, which critics say discriminates against gay and transgender people.
The former Beatle follows Bruce Springsteen and Bryan Adams in taking a stand, calling the state's new 'religious freedom' law "discriminatory"
Starr had been due to perform on June 18.
The law, which comes into force on July 1, allows religious groups and some private businesses in North Carolina and Mississippi to refuse service to gay people.
