Green Wing cast joins striking junior doctors in contract row

Cast members of British sitcom Green Wing joined junior doctors striking on Wendesday in their ongoing dispute with the government over new contracts.

Doctors have began their fourth strike, scheduled to last 48 hours from 8am, which has resulted in the postponement of more than 5,100 procedures and operations.

While actor Vanessa Redgrave joined in with the protest, so did cast members of Green Wing, which was filmed at Northwick Park hospital - the site of the strike.

Stephen Mangan, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Pippa Haywood, Tamsin Greig and Oliver Chris were all on hand to wave placards and pledge their support.
