Hackers claim to leak personal data of 50m Turkish citizens
Hackers claim to have leaked a database of personal information of nearly 50 million Turkish citizens - including the personal data of the country's president and prime minister.
The leak's authenticity was partially verified by Associated Press, and includes data such as national ID numbers, addresses, birth dates and the names of parents.
The hackers have posted what they purport to be the personal details of the president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the prime minister Ahmet Devutoglu on a website's front page.
Calling it the "Turkish Citizenship Database", the hackers state:
They claim to have leaked the details of exactly 49,611,709 Turkish citizens.
