Fruit machine bandits caught out by crime selfies

A pair of thieves targeting fruit machines found themselves on the wrong side of lady luck after they were caught with selfies charting their crime spree.

Daniel Hutchinson, 24, and Benjamin Robinson, 29, took balaclavas to conceal their identities as they broke into machines across the country.

But they could not resist documenting their loot in selfies taken on their mobile phones.

The men were caught out after police stopped their car after it was spotted speeding.

Police then spotted a huge cash haul including more than £1,000 in pound coins inside the vehicles - plus the pair's own photographic evidence.

The bungling crime duo, both of whom are from Skegness, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to steal after they were presented with the evidence.

Robinson was jailed for 32 months, at Bradford Crown Court, while his accomplice Hutchinson received a six-month sentence which was suspended for two years.
