Union launches judicial review over junior doctor contracts
The British Medical Association (BMA) has launched a judicial review to challenge Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt's imposition of junior doctor contracts.
The judicial review will challenge the lawfulness of Hunt's decision to impose the newly published junior doctor contract, the BMA said.
Dr Johann Malawana, BMA junior doctor committee chair, said:
A group of junior doctors, under the name JustHealth, are also planning to launch a judicial review that they say is more 'wide-reaching' into other areas of medicine such as dentistry and nursing.
