Huge fire breaks out at skyscraper in United Arab Emirates

A huge fire broke out at a high-rise tower in the United Arab Emirates on Monday night.

Flames were seen rising up the side of the building as debris fell to the ground below in the city of Ajman.

Hundreds of residents were evacuated from the building but there were no initial reports of any casualties.

The fire is the latest in a series of blazes to hit skyscrapers in the Gulf nation.

The 63-storey The Address, one of Dubai's most prominent hotels, was struck by a large fire on New Year's Eve.

Firefighting efforts continued late into the night at the residential building in Ajman.
