Builder's video showing large Costa Coffee fitting in regular cup goes viral

A video of a large cup of Costa Coffee filling one of the store's regular size cups has gone viral.

Builder Paul Hopkinson filmed himself pouring the large drink into the smaller cup after noticing that despite the 30p price difference, the large cup does not contain much more liquid than a regular size.

He posted: "There you go, country of England, the regular and the large are indeed exactly the same size. Whoops Costa, oh dear."

The video has been viewed 10 million times.

However, as Costa pointed out, the 30p price hike pays for an extra shot of coffee.

Also, the regular cup in the video is filled up to the brim, but a regular bought in store would not be so full. All coffee sizes have a space at the top of the cup to account for safety and spillage.

Hopkinson posted the video again, accusing Costa of deleting his original post - a claim the coffee chain has denied.
