Facebook activates safety check feature following Lahore suicide bombing
Facebook has activated its safety check feature for Lahore following a suicide bombing which has killed at least 65 people, mainly women and children.
The social network was criticised by some users for the time it took to implement the feature following the Brussels bombing this week. It was also criticised for appearing to only be made available during high-profile attacks in the West.
Users have however been reporting that they are being asked to check themselves in safe, even though they live thousands of miles away from Lahore and haven't been there before.
Most of the victims of the attack in Lahore are women and children, according to police.
