Maths teaching in Britain ranked 26th in the world

When it comes to maths teaching, Britain now stands 25th out of 65 countries in ranking.

The disappointing results come as experts described maths education in the country as "a mile wide and an inch deep".

Britain ranks behind many of its European neighbours - including France and Ireland - while the top five spots are occupied by nations in the Far East such as China and Singapore.
