Surrey Police have agreed a payout for the parents of murder victim Breck Bednar and "unreservedly apologised".

Barry Bednar and Lorin LaFave sought damages against the force for failing to protect their 14-year-old son who was murdered after being groomed through online gaming.

Computer engineer Lewis Daynes, 19, was jailed for a minimum of 25 years after killing Breck, from Caterham, Surrey, who was found with a fatal neck wound at a flat in Grays, Essex, in February 2014.
