'I'm upset about how I behaved' Actor Laurence Fox calls theatregoer the c-word in stage outburst
Actor Laurence Fox stopped a live theatre performance to call an audience member the c-word.
The Lewis star is currently playing Charles de Gaulle in The Patriotic Traitor in London but said that an a man was heckling him during Tuesday evening's show.
He broke character to tell his shocked audience: "I won’t bother telling you the story because this c*** in the front row has ruined it for everybody."
The 37-year-old then walked off stage and refused to return for the curtain call.
The actor addressed the incident on Radio 4's Today programme. He apologised "to the other 199 people in the theatre" for his use of language.
"It was a very emotional part of the play and I was very upset about it and am upset about how I behaved," he said.
A spokesman for the venue said: "Park Theatre takes the welfare of its performers, staff and patrons very seriously.
"We are investigating the incident, and have no further comment at this time."
