A French father whose wife and two children went missing two years ago when Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 disappeared has claimed the families of passengers on board are being "lied" to about what happened.

Ghyslain Wattrelos told ITV News that he did not believe the theory put forward by the Malaysian government - who said they are still "working towards finalising conclusions" but have suggested the plane was hijacked - and said so-called official investigations could not be trusted.

Wattrelos who is part of a family association now working with private investigators to discover the truth of what happened on March 8, 2014, said he would not stop until he learnt the truth.

Wattrelos' wife Laurence, 51, son Adrien, 17 and daughter Ambre, 13,were all on board the flight with his son's girlfriend when the plane disappeared.

Acknowledging that investigations could take time Wattrelos said that he believed "step by step we will have some part of the truth" and says he even quit his job two weeks ago so he can concentrate fully on finding answers.
