Convicted footballer Adam Johnson's sister launches 'Justice for Johnson' campaign
The sister of disgraced footballer Adam Johnson has posted a "Justice for Johnson" picture online urging fans to change their Facebook profile pictures to a photo of the player.
Johnson, 28, admitted kissing and grooming a 15-year-old schoolgirl and was found guilty of one count of sexual activity with a child.
Her post comes just hours after Facebook removed a page supporting Johnson, which received more than 1,000 likes before it was taken down.
Faye, 23, wrote: "Change your profile picture to support Adam Johnson's appeal. Facebook removed our group but we will not stop publicising our support #TeamAJ."
Her Facebook post has already received nearly 400 shares and more than 60 'likes'.
It is the first time Johnson’s family has made a public comment since he was found guilty at Bradford crown court last week of sexual activity with a child.
Faye was present for almost every day of her brother's three-week trial.
Her post suggests, as has previously been reported, that Adam Johnson intends to appeal his conviction.
