Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain set for up to two months out injured
Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss six to eight weeks of action with a knee injury, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.
The England international suffered the injury against Barcelona in the Champions League and is now unlikely to feature until the end of April.
It had been feared Oxlade-Chamberlain would miss the European Championships, but now the prognosis is more optimistic.
Oxlade-Chamberlain won't need surgery on the injury, which is a boost to the midfielder.
"(He will be out for) six for eight weeks," Wenger said of Oxlade-Chamberlain's injury.
"No surgery. We feared surgery at some stage before we saw the MRI. In the end we got, on that front, positive news.
"The next eight weeks means March and April. He should be okay for the European Championships."
