Adele helps fan with Leap Year proposal at Belfast gig

Adele kicked off the start of her world tour with a bang by helping a fan propose to her boyfriend.

She picked Hayley Consuegra out of the audience at the Belfast gig after asking if any women wanted to make a Leap Year day proposal.

Once up on stage, the 34-year-old revealed she had already asked partner of 10 years Neil Pringle earlier in the day but he said "maybe in a little while".

After singling Neil out in the crowd, Adele told him: "You need to say a proper yes, bruv" before getting the audience to chant "come on Neil".

The excited singer then jumped up and down when Neil finally said yes.

Speaking afterwards, sales manager Hayley revealed she won Neil back after a break-up by sending him an Adele song.

She told Mail Online: "We got back together after I sent him a link to Someone Like You. I'd seen it on the Brits and it made me think of him.

"Adele was a big part of us getting back together. She has really written the words to our story."

Hayley also sent a tweet thanking Adele for what she had done after the show.

She said holding Adele's hand had given her the courage to properly ask Neil to marry her.

The "ecstatic" couple now hope Adele might even perform at their wedding.
