Craig David: The Brits are ignoring an entire genre
Craig David has said the Brits are ignoring an entire genre of music and that's what caused the #BritsSoWhite diversity row.
The UK garage star said "it's not a black-white issue" - but that the grime scene was just not being represented.
He told ITV News: "I don't see it as a race card. That's where it kind of gets into the conspiracy.
"The conspiracy is that it's black-white. A genre of music, for sure, hasn't been represented.
"The grime scene and garage scene, which I'm very much part of, Stormzy, Big Narstie, all these guys, who've had huge hits, haven't been represented this year.
"But the ultimate thing for me is, people come and watch your show, people go out and buy your music, you've already won.
"If it's about holding the award, and the ego is driving you and it has to be that, then it's another conversation, but you've already won.
"So, for me, being part of that scene, I know it's already representing and doing it's thing, so I'm just glad that it's UK music.
"The grime and garage scene is going off differently in 2016, so watch."
