Ant and Dec jokingly tell ITV News there will "no capes" at this year's Brit Awards.

The presenting duo, who will be hosting the music event for the last time on Wednesday night, recall last year's big story - Madonna's shocking fall on stage.

"Capes have been banned, absolutely banned," Ant says. "They're a health and safety nightmare!" Dec adds, with his tongue firmly in his cheek.

Although they can't give away too much about the night itself, Ant and Dec do say we can "expect the unexpected."

"We're hoping for the best and planning for the worst," Dec says with a laugh.

This year's ceremony features eagerly awaited performances by Adele, Justin Bieber, Coldplay and Rihanna.

Asked who they think win come away with some gongs Dec tells us: "You would imagine that Adele would probably have a busy night getting up and down maybe for a few awards.

"That album has done such big business all over the world, you would think Adele would have a big night."

But who will be Ant and Dec's successor as host at next year's event?

"It's not an easy job," Dec warns. "It needs to be somebody who is used to doing live shows".

"There's a lot of people out there who could do it, Nick Grimshaw would be good at it, Dermot O'Leary is a great host," Ant adds.

You can watch The Brit Awards 2016 on ITV at 8pm on Wednesday and on the ITV Hub.
